Which gold IRA companies pay us, how we're paid, and how that affects our rankings. Plain-English disclosure in line with FTC endorsement guidance.

This site is free to read because some of the companies we write about pay us. Here is exactly how that works.

Who pays us

CompanyDo they pay us?How
GoldcoYesA commission when a reader we refer requests information and Goldco counts it as a qualified lead, and when a referred reader buys
Augusta Precious MetalsYesA commission when a reader we refer requests information and Augusta counts it as a qualified lead
American Hartford GoldNoNo relationship
Birch Gold GroupNoNo relationship (Birch has a public affiliate program; we haven’t joined it)
Noble Gold InvestmentsNoNo relationship (Noble has a public affiliate program; we haven’t joined it)
Patriot Gold GroupNoNo relationship

Lear CapitalNoNo relationship (Lear has a public affiliate program; we haven’t joined it)

In plain terms: we get paid when you ask Goldco or Augusta for information through our links, and Goldco also pays us when you buy.

We update this table whenever a relationship starts or ends.

How it works

Links to Goldco and Augusta on this site go through a “/go/” address. When you use one of those links and then request information or buy, the company may pay us as described above. The link tells the company which page and which spot on the page you came from, so we can see which pages are useful. It doesn’t send your name, email or other personal details. You don’t pay anything extra. The price of metal and the account fees are the same whether you use our link or go to the company directly.

How it affects our rankings

It does. Goldco and Augusta pay us, and those relationships are part of why they are ranked first and second. We’ve explained on the ranking page and in our methodology why Goldco’s published record supports a top placement, and we list its weaknesses as plainly as anyone else’s.

What payments don’t change:

  • The facts. Fees, minimums, complaints, lawsuits and regulator actions are reported the same way for every company, paid or not.
  • Negative information. No company can pay to remove or soften a fact.
  • Review content. Companies don’t see or approve our pages before they’re published.

What we don’t accept

  • Payment for positive reviews
  • Free metal, gifts or trips from companies we cover
  • Requests to remove accurate information

Questions

If you have questions about a relationship, ask us through the contact page.

The FTC’s Endorsement Guides say a material connection, such as payment, should be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. We place a short disclosure at the top of every page that recommends a company and link here for details.
