Is Noble Gold a good gold IRA company?
Noble Gold is a solid option at $20,000 and up if you want segregated storage, which every account gets. The BBB shows 3 complaints in three years. Trustpilot shows 4.9 from 799 reviews. It offers all four IRA metals.
Two things kept it from ranking higher. Its fee figures differ between two of its own pages, and we use the newer one. Its gold IRA FAQ also says you can “store your gold at home”. IRS rules don’t allow that for IRA metal. Get the fees in writing and keep your IRA metal in the depository.

Fees
Noble charges a flat annual fee regardless of account value. Two of its pages disagree on the numbers. We use the support FAQ because it is the newer page (last updated September 14, 2026; the gold IRA page was last updated July 27, 2026):
| Gold IRA page (July 2026) | Support FAQ (September 2026, used in our tables) | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | $50 | $80 |
| Annual admin | $125 | $125 |
| Annual storage | $160 | $150 segregated (FAQ says $160 “typically refers to commingled”) |
| Year one | $335 | $355 |
| Each year after | $285 | $275 |
| 10 years | $2,900 | $2,830 |
Scroll the table sideways to see every column.
The $80 setup in the FAQ may simply be the gold IRA page’s $50 setup plus its $30 wire fee; that’s our reading, not something Noble says. The support FAQ also says Noble only offers segregated storage, which makes its note about a $160 commingled rate confusing. Ask Noble which figures apply and get them in writing.
Other fees Noble lists: $30 per wire, $75 for an in-kind distribution (taking coins out instead of cash) and $250 to close the account. Noble didn’t publish a fee waiver or a markup.

Minimum investment
$20,000 for a gold IRA. For cash delivery outside an IRA, the gold IRA page shows $10,000, while the support FAQ lists Noble’s “Royal Survival Packs” from $5,000 to $500,000.
Custodian and storage
Noble’s support FAQ tells gold IRA customers to log in to “your custodian Equity Institutional”, which is Equity Trust’s institutional division; another answer refers to Equity Trust for transfers. For silver IRAs it names New Direction IRA. Confirm which custodian will hold your account.
Storage is at International Depository Services, with sites in Texas, Delaware and Mississauga, Canada. Noble says it only offers segregated storage, so your coins are kept apart from other customers’.
The home-storage problem
Noble’s gold IRA FAQ says: “You have the option to either store your gold at home or at a secure depository in Texas.”
For metal held in an IRA, that’s misleading. The IRS allows IRA bullion only if a bank or approved trustee keeps physical possession of it. If you take IRA gold home, the IRS can treat it as a distribution, which means income tax and possibly a 10% additional tax before age 59½. Home storage is fine for gold you buy with cash outside an IRA. See our rollover guide.
Products
Noble sells gold, silver, platinum and palladium. Examples it lists as IRA-eligible:
- American Gold Eagle
- Austrian Gold Philharmonic
- Australian Gold Kangaroo
- Canadian Gold Maple Leaf
- Perth Mint 1 oz gold bar
The same page also features an 1854 Kellogg $20 gold coin, a collector piece that isn’t IRA-eligible.
Buyback
Noble says it offers a buyback program but doesn’t publish the terms or how it sets the price.
Endorsements
Noble’s gold IRA page features a celebrity spokesperson. An endorsement tells you nothing about fees or markups.
