Is Priority Gold legit?

Priority Gold suits savers with $10,000 or more who want a named custodian and published fees. It uses Equity Trust’s fee schedule and names four depositories. Its free-storage waiver gives one year per $50,000 invested, up to five years.

We ranked it low because of what it says about itself. Its website claims it is “fully accredited” by the BBB. The BBB profile shows it is not accredited. It claims a 4.9 on Trustpilot, and Trustpilot showed 4.8. The BBB also logged 38 complaints in three years. Check its claims against the public records before you buy.

Fees

Priority uses Equity Trust’s schedule, which Priority says it last verified on September 30, 2026:

  • Setup: $50
  • Annual admin: $125
  • Annual storage: $110 non-segregated or $160 segregated
  • Other Equity Trust fees: $30 per wire, $30 liquidation, $250 termination, $60 a year for paper statements

That’s $285 or $335 in year one and $235 or $285 a year after.

Storage waiver: one year of free storage for every $50,000 invested, up to five years at $250,000. Priority also offers free insured shipping to qualifying new clients.

Priority says it discloses its spread in a Transaction Agreement before you buy. It doesn’t publish a percentage. See what we found on spreads and buyback prices.

Minimum investment

Priority’s reviews page says the minimum is “typically” $10,000 for IRAs and $5,000 for cash purchases, and may vary. A 2025 press release reported a higher figure; we’ve used Priority’s current page.

Custodian and storage

Equity Trust Company is the custodian. Priority lists four depository companies:

  • A-Mark Global Logistics / Loomis (AMGL)
  • Brink’s Global Services
  • Delaware Depository Service Company
  • International Depository Services

Products

Gold, silver, platinum and palladium. IRA examples Priority gives include American Eagles in gold, silver and platinum, and platinum and palladium of .9995 fineness or better.

Buyback and price guarantee

Priority’s buyback page describes three ways to sell:

  1. Sell on the open market
  2. Immediate liquidation at the current wholesale bid
  3. Consignment, for numismatic or investment-grade pieces held 60 months or more

It says there’s no guarantee it will buy back, and claims no buyback fees. Equity Trust’s $30 liquidation fee may still apply.

Priority advertises a “lowest-price guarantee” but doesn’t publish the terms.

Promotions and endorsements

Priority offers up to $15,000 in free silver to new IRA clients, scaling with the amount invested, with a minimum qualifying investment. Author Robert Kiyosaki is a paid spokesperson, and Priority advertises a Texas Rangers partnership.

Ratings and claims

  • BBB: A+ rating, but not accredited. Priority’s website says it is “fully accredited”. 38 complaints in three years.
  • BCA: AAA, 1 complaint.
  • Trustpilot: 4.8 from 367 reviews. Priority’s website says 4.9.

Its headquarters also differs between its website (Dallas) and the BBB (Beverly Hills).

Chiasson v. Priority Gold LLC (Los Angeles County Superior Court, Van Nuys, filed November 19, 2025). The complaint alleges that in 2024 the plaintiff was persuaded to move over $300,000 from an IRA into coins described as “semi-numismatic” with limited mintage, sold at prices the complaint calls excessive, and that the account was worth almost $100,000 less a few months later. These are allegations, not findings. Court records indexed by UniCourt show a notice that the entire case had settled on April 3, 2026, and a dismissal entered in April 2026. Settlement terms aren’t public. We read the docket on UniCourt, not on the court’s own portal.

The case is a reminder to ask what share of any “semi-numismatic” or limited-mintage coin’s price is markup over its metal value.

We found no regulatory actions against Priority Gold in searches on October 29, 2026.

Who Priority Gold suits

  • Savers with $10,000 or more who want a named custodian and published fees
  • Larger accounts that would use several years of the storage waiver

Look elsewhere if you want a company whose claims match the public records exactly (Augusta or Goldco).
